Handling Mistakes
Making mistakes can knock our confidence, and the confidence of others in us. Therefore it is very important that you view them in a positive light so that you can learn from them and then move on without being scarred
emotionally.
Here are the three key things to tell yourself if you make a mistake:
1. I have just had a learning experience. I now know what doesn’t work. (Edison reportedly had 10,000 of these on his way to inventing the lightbulb)
2. What can I learn from this mistake - what was it trying to teach me?
3. I can achieve whatever I set out to - mistakes are there to help guide me to what I need to do to achieve my goals. just need to apply the learning from each mistake in order to move closer toachieving my goals and outcomes.
If you are angry as a result of this mistake use the energy to motivate you to get it right next time.
